Kids Code

Kids Code summer school is designed by Octave Analytics to introduce kids and teens aged 5-15 years with programming skills. At Kids Code, kids learn how to create and express themselves with the computer, not just to interact with it. In the process, children learn to solve problems and design projects, and they develop sequencing skills that are foundational for later academic success. They also use math and language in a meaningful and motivating context, supporting the development of early-childhood numeracy and literacy. At Kids Code, children aren’t just learning to code, they are coding to learn.

Requirement

A LAPTOP with the following specifications:

– Processor (minimum): 8 core Pentium 4, 2 GHz (x64)
– RAM (minimum): 4 GB
– Hard drive (minimum): 4 GB

This specifications are to enable smooth running of the different applications to be used.

Tracks

Tiny Coders
5 -7 Years

In this category, our Little coders are taught basic coding using Scratch to build interactive games, create stories, and perform basic calculations.

Bloomy Coders
8 – 10 Years

In this category, our Bloomy coders are taught the fundamentals of programming using Scratch and Python. They would be introduced to the concept of loops, variables, and game development, and data structures in Python.

Astro Coders
10 – 13 Years

In this category, our Astro coders will begin to develop an appreciation of programming. They are taught to use python to solve problems in a creative and insightful way.

Scratch is a free educational programming website and is a block programming language that has an easy-to-handle visual and graphic block interface, designed for children to make coding easy

PYTHON

Artificial intelligence using Python: Python is an effective and powerful programming language that’s fun for children and teenagers. It is also easy to understand, even for kids with no programming experience as its syntax is easier to write unlike other programming languages.

Date/Enrollment schedule

The Kids Code Summer School comes up during the summer holiday in August. The dates will be announced in July.
